To the magnificent citizens of Boulder City,

I am Officer Paul Daly, the President of the Boulder City Police Protective Association. The BCPPA is made up of every full-time officer of the Boulder City Police Department and our goal is to create a healthy working environment for the officers and to support the community. As an association over the past three years, we have become more involved in the City and will continue to support organizations committed to making Boulder City the greatest city to live, work and play.

Recently, the police department did a survey asking the citizens of Boulder City how we were doing in policing the people we vowed to protect. The survey showed we were not meeting the needs of our citizens and at this time we would like to apologize for not working more closely with you. Over the past few years there have been many changes in the department that have been a distraction in our policing the community. We are not using this as an excuse because as professional police officers, YOU should have come first and we wish to apologize for allowing these distractions to take precedents over YOU. This letter is a commitment from every officer in the Boulder City Police Department Association to getting back to “old fashioned” policing where we work in-conjunction with YOU and make your concerns our concerns. This does not mean we will stop writing tickets or making arrests. However, we will be committed to talking and working with YOU to make Boulder City a safer and more enjoyable place to live, work and play.

Sincerely,
Paul Daly, BCPPA President
